branding ▶︎ website • branding • illustration • venues & property
Southwark Square Ltd is the holding company for Menier Venues, both sites manage residential and commercial property located in the heart of London Bridge. I worked collaboratively with the owners to create a graphic logo mark and way finding system for the events side of the business. The buildings are historic landmarks in their own right and the Menier Chocolate is a former production warehouse for the Chocolate brand that still exists today. Our solution was an elegant mark that would typify the architectural past, but still be competitive in a modern day property market.

company website
With the team we developed a brand look and feel for the event space side of the business that is split over the characterful ex-Menier Chocolate factory building and wider Southwark Square estate. Divided across several beautiful floors, each space has its own unique personality and purpose.
the idea
Following a site visit we felt the art direction style should be more hand crafted and a nod to the past, with the ability to function in a modern setting. Inspired by the story of the Menier building and the personality of the different architectural spaces we landed on an etched digital illustration style. Keys and objects were a way to convey the unique interior style of each event space.
execution & production
To compose each object and finalise artwork I used different types of brushes to get the right effect. Learning as we went the shading and texturing came to life with some trial and error.
concept store signage
During Covid the team had to close the business as usual property leasing, but wanted to continue to raise awareness along with finding a positive way to support local community producers and makers.
